This was made due to a few requests that I go over how to field strip, reassemble, and function check the S&W Model 915 pistol. I'm wanting to find a couple more magazines for it and a holster. I'm wondering if it is the same gun but w/ a 10 round magazine as my dad's handgun has a 15 round one. But, I can't find anything on S&W's webpage. It says on the box it's a Model 915 and it is a 9mm. The market with gun parts is wide and there are many options for purchasing. The 915 is of course supposed to be the nicer gun, but the trigger on my 910 is smoother and the sights much easier to pick up. BTW having shot both my 910 and 915 I'm having a hard time saying which one I like better. If the pistol looks to be in great shape otherwise I would say go for it. The black anodizing comes off easily, especially internally where all of the steel parts rub against it. Without seeing where the wear is it's hard to say, but do understand that an alloy frame is going to show wear with any amount of handling and use. I ended up putting a deposit down on the gun so its mine if I want it, I am just weighing my options now. So my question is this, is the wear on the alloy frame normal from just normal use, or is this something that I should be worried about? Also is there anything comparable in the $400 price range? They had Sigmas around the same price, but I dont know why I would go that route when the 915 gets such great reviews in terms of reliability. ![]() The asking price in 369 with original box/paper work and 2 mags, which come to just under 400 after taxes fees etc. The guy at the shop broke it down and showed me the internals were all metal(unlike 910s) and all in good shape, with only alittle wear on the alloy frame(worn off bluing). It was clean and only showed a tiny tiny tiny bit of holster wear on the slide. I would say it was in Like new condition maybe around 90-95%. So after work I went down there and checked it out, and boy was it nice, and fit my hand well. Anyway, I have been keeping my eye on the used section at my LGS, and yesterday they got a 915 in on trade. I was almost dead set on a used Sig 2022, but that deal came and went. I want to spend around $400 OTD on something full size, in 9mm with a safety, preferably not polymer as they feel top heavy in my hand even when loaded.
